Do you want to apply your accounting expertise where international insurance contracts, complex payment flows, and modern financial processes come together? In this versatile specialist role, you take responsibility for the Technical Accounting of Helvetia Specialty Lines CH & International. You ensure reliable financial processing, create transparency for well-founded decisions, and develop our processes and systems together with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to the quality and sustainable success of our international insurance business.

What you achieve

• You ensure that insurance premiums, levies, and contract data are fully, correctly, and punctually recorded in the sub-ledger SAP FS-RI.
• You manage receivables in SAP FS-CD, allocate incoming payments, reconcile open items, and oversee payment processing.
• You check invoices and bordereaux for accuracy and contract compliance and resolve discrepancies directly with our internal and external partners.
• You reconcile sub-ledger and general ledger, review data flows from upstream systems, and support quarterly and annual financial statements as well as audits.
• You analyse open items, payment flows, contract data, and actuarial results and provide meaningful information for reporting and management decisions.
• You are responsible for the correct reporting and payment of relevant insurance taxes in various countries and ensure compliance with applicable sanctions regulations.
• You contribute your expertise to system, process, and automation projects, support testing and migrations, and consistently implement identified improvements.
• Work location: Basel or Stettbach, combined with flex-office possible.

What you bring

• You have completed a degree in business administration, accounting, or a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of professional experience in technical accounting, insurance accounting, or a comparable financial function.
• IFRS 17 and/or local accounting standards are familiar to you.
• Knowledge of SAP FS-RI and SAP FS-CD is a plus. More important is your feel for numbers and your motivation to deeply familiarise yourself with our systems and processes.
• You think analytically, work carefully, and find pragmatic solutions – even when things get dynamic, you set the right priorities.
• You like to tackle challenges, represent your professional viewpoint convincingly, and at the same time work constructively and in a team-oriented manner.
• You have very good Excel skills and experience in data analysis; ideally, you have also been involved in testing, migrations, automations, or process improvements.
• You communicate confidently in German and English, both spoken and written, and can clearly and understandably convey even complex topics. Additional languages are a plus.
