To strengthen our headquarters in Basel, we are looking for a committed individual as Group Manager Global Events for our Marketing and Medical Education department. In this role, you will take on the strategic and operational overall responsibility for Medartis' global event organisation and lead an international event team of six employees. You will further develop the global event strategy, manage a diverse international event portfolio, and actively shape the digital and organisational advancement of the event function. In doing so, you will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, IBRA, and the executive management, making an important contribution to the international brand presence and the strategic development of the Medartis Group.

Group Manager Global Events 100% (m/f)
Your area of responsibility
- Professional and disciplinary leadership as well as development of a global event team with six employees.
- Development and implementation of the global event strategy as well as overall responsibility for the strategic planning, management, and further development of the international event portfolio, including congresses, trade fairs, symposia, product launches, and IBRA events.
- Strategic advancement of the global congress and trade fair presence as part of the customer journey, for lead generation, and to strengthen Medartis' international brand presence.
- Close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, IBRA, and executive management, as well as building and maintaining sustainable relationships with external partners, organisers, and industry partners.
- Responsibility for the digital transformation and continuous optimisation of the global event organisation, including logistics, processes, cross-charging, as well as the introduction and further development of digital tools and systems.
- Further development of hybrid and digital event formats as well as integration of event apps, lead-capturing technologies, and CRM systems.
- Overall responsibility for the global event budget, efficient resource allocation, and the definition and analysis of relevant KPIs for success measurement and continuous optimisation of the event programme.
- Ensuring a globally consistent and brand-compliant appearance of Medartis at all events.
Your qualifications
- Completed studies in event management, marketing, business administration, or a comparable field, as well as several years of professional experience in international event or congress management, ideally in a globally operating company.
- At least five years of experience in professional and disciplinary leadership as well as development of employees and pronounced leadership skills.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing global event strategies as well as managing complex international event projects.
- Strong strategic and entrepreneurial thinking as well as experience in budget management, stakeholder management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary and international teams.
- Experience in change management as well as in digitalisation and optimisation of processes and working methods.
- Experience with CRM systems, event management software, and digital event and lead management solutions; analytical skills and experience in KPI-based reporting.
- Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and confident appearance as well as a cooperative and appreciative leadership style.
- Excellent organisational skills, initiative, sense of responsibility, resilience, communication, and assertiveness.
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken. French and other language skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30%.
