Context
Affiliated with the Department of Medicine, the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service (GLG) at CHUV provides a reference care for digestive and liver diseases, cutting-edge teaching, and internationally recognised innovative research. Its clinical activity covers all specialised examinations and treatments, significant outpatient and inpatient activity, as well as major involvement in the liver transplantation programme.
Mission
Job responsibilities:
- Lead, organise and manage the development of all typical activities of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service.
- Ensure and strengthen expertise and quality of clinical missions while developing collaborations and synergies within and outside the institution in line with the Department of Medicine’s priorities and CHUV’s Strategic Plan.
- Unite, lead and develop high-level fundamental, translational and/or clinical research.
- Ensure and lead undergraduate (FBM), postgraduate (ISFM category A, with accreditation for advanced training in hepatology) and continuing education missions.
- Guarantee quality medical and scientific succession, consolidate the Service’s reputation and collaborate with hospitals of the Vaud Hospitals Federation and Switzerland.
Profile
Desired profile:
- Federal medical diploma (or equivalent MEBEKO mandatory) and MD or MD-PhD
- Specialist in gastroenterology and hepatology (ISFM or equivalent MEBEKO mandatory)
- Extensive clinical experience in gastroenterology and hepatology
- Unite, lead and develop the clinical and academic research activities of the service to a high level of excellence, supporting the acquisition of peer-reviewed external funding and the production of publications in quality scientific journals, while personally contributing to research activities by encouraging innovation, including own research.
- Academic knowledge and expertise at professorial level with proven practice in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Recognised managerial skills in leading and managing a research team and in international collaborations
- Good knowledge of French (mother tongue or minimum B2, C1 ideal) or ability to acquire it quickly
- Proven record of impeccable professional conduct: the successful candidate must provide all guarantees of integrity and compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the position.
