Task

• Independently handle VAT criminal cases in French and German


• Conduct evidentiary and administrative criminal proceedings (including coercive measures)


• Prepare legal documents, final protocols, penalty notices and orders


• Represent the ESTV at cantonal and federal courts

• University degree as a lawyer (Master of Law), preferably with a lawyer's license and professional experience


• Solid legal knowledge, preferably in Swiss criminal, criminal procedure and tax law, with knowledge of administrative criminal law being an advantage


• Resilient; independent working style; strong assertiveness


• Excellent editorial and communication skills; competent in quickly familiarizing with complex issues and new legal areas; very good IT knowledge


• Good knowledge of two official languages

You work in a structured and efficient manner and actively help to carry out tax criminal proceedings throughout Switzerland and implement VAT law.

The Federal Tax Administration (ESTV) is the federal competence center for tax matters. Thanks to VAT, direct federal tax, withholding tax, and stamp duties, it is responsible for the largest part of federal revenues. Its services include the proper application and enforcement of tax law, the further development of the tax system, and participation in international tax matters.
