About the job
We are Deutsche Bahn. Millions of passengers travel with us every day and we transport enormous quantities of goods – across Germany and neighbouring Europe. Too often, we also disappoint. That’s why we are working intensively on a better railway. For that, we need power and you! We are one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we look for around 5,000 trainees in 50 different training professions who want to help make the railway a little better every day. Join us: We offer you attractive benefits, a fixed contact person, and a great team by your side. And after successful training, you have excellent chances of being taken on!
This is what your training looks like:
- Construction site instead of office: With us, you work with real machines and ensure the tracks are laid correctly
- Heavy machines: You will become a pro with the cut-off grinder and will ace the exam with our support
- Teamwork and technology: With your rail construction team, you go out to the construction sites, measure routes, lay tracks, and use the latest technology
- Pure variety: Whether checking equipment, replacing ballast, or starting new construction projects – every day brings new tasks
Your profile:
- You have (soon) successfully completed school and your school leaving certificate is recognised in Germany
- Your German language skills correspond to at least the B2 level (for applicants with B1 level, we offer a B2 online language course before the start of training)
- Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer to work outdoors
- You are motivated and reliable
- You enjoy teamwork and like to get stuck in
- Different workplaces and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you
- It is advantageous if you are at least 18 years old at the start of training
