Biomedical Analysis Technician at the Institute of Microbiology
The Microscopy, Antibiotic Resistance and Culture Laboratory of the Institute of Microbiology within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DMLP) is seeking a biomedical analysis technician for an 80% - 100% position starting 1 August 2026, on a permanent contract.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Institute of Microbiology of the University of Lausanne (IMU) is an academic centre with about 140 collaborators. It is dedicated to three main activities:
- Microbiological diagnosis of infectious diseases
- Applied and fundamental research
- Teaching
The diagnostic sector laboratories of the IMU include specialised laboratories accredited according to EN15189: 2012 and EN17025: 2015 standards, functionally and administratively attached to the Institute of Microbiology (IMU).
Mission
- You ensure the execution of analyses in accordance with laboratory procedures
- You actively contribute to quality system management
- You contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory (infrastructure, equipment and supply)
- You provide on-call and standby services.
Profile
- You hold a diploma as a biomedical analysis technician from the Higher School of Health (ESsanté) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the competent Swiss authorities
- You have experience or solid foundations in Bacteriology (professional experience or training internship)
- You have experience in Parasitology and/or Mycology, an asset for this position
- You have a keen interest in IT tools and automation
- You have good teamwork skills
- You demonstrate rigour, precision, flexibility and discretion.
