Senior Psychologist Forensics

The University Psychiatric Centre Bern is committed in the outpatient clinic of the University Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychology to research-based, effective and socially relevant treatment of people in forensic contexts. The interdisciplinary team combines clinical psychiatry, psychology, law and social sciences to develop new approaches in diagnostics, therapy and relapse prevention. The aim is to promote the mental health, self-responsibility and social reintegration of patients in the long term – thus making an important contribution to public safety and modern forensic psychiatric care.

Your tasks

• You take over the leadership of the psychological team and are responsible for guidance, management, further training and supervision
• You are responsible for conducting psychological-psychotherapeutic individual and group therapies within the framework of court-ordered and enforcement measures
• You handle all correspondence and prepare reports, certificates and assessments for referring authorities, health insurance companies, disability insurance, etc.
• You take on crisis interventions as well as psychological emergency care in close cooperation with the chief physicians and senior physicians
• You work closely with employees of other institutions and authorities, especially with probation and enforcement services, but also with social services or residential facilities
• You conceptually further develop the treatment programme in collaboration with those responsible and actively participate in research projects if required
• You regularly attend internal clinical training sessions, such as journal clubs, case presentations and supervision

• You have a university degree in clinical psychology and have completed psychotherapy training
• You have several years of clinical experience in caring for people with acute and complex mental disorders
• You bring forensic psychological professional experience or experience in enforcement
• You demonstrate high competencies and enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration
• You have a high capacity for understanding complex issues and demonstrate pronounced psychological resilience
• You have very good German skills, ideally also good spoken French skills (all other language skills are an advantage)
