Head of Department Road Construction

Your tasks

• You lead the Road Construction Department, establish and maintain the necessary contacts with other cantonal offices, the Federal Roads Office, the SBB and the municipalities with a view to optimal handling of road construction projects
• You are responsible for the technical, personnel and economic management of projects within your area of responsibility
• You accompany the implementation of road projects from the procurement of engineering and construction services to billing
• You lead and support your employees professionally and promote them according to their functions and abilities
• You process enquiries from other departments and offices as well as political initiatives and citizen enquiries in cooperation with the head of office

Your profile

• A completed degree as a civil engineer at university level (ETH, university) or a comparable qualification as well as proven experience in project management and leadership
• At least five years of experience in the implementation of road construction projects
• Confident handling of legal bases in the areas of road construction and traffic
• Experience in dealing with enquiries from citizens and political bodies such as parliament
• Appropriate handling of diverse stakeholders
• Enjoyment of precise, impeccable oral and written communication
• Networked, analytical thinking and goal-oriented work to develop innovative, feasible solutions
