Nursing Ward Manager for the Acute Ward 80-100% (m/f/d)

About the job

The protected acute ward G1 with 24 treatment places specialises in elderly people with organically caused mental disorders, especially dementia or delirium. We also admit elderly people in acute psychological crises. The focus is on diagnostic clarification, stabilisation, and individually tailored psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, and nursing treatment.
As ward manager, you share responsibility with the medical ward management for reliable ward operations, interprofessional collaboration, and the further development of the treatment offerings.

Your tasks

• Professional, personnel and organisational leadership and development of the nursing team, including demand-oriented personnel planning.
• Ensuring and further developing person-centred, relationship-oriented and evidence-based nursing as well as the therapeutic milieu.
• Supporting the team in the professional handling of challenging behaviour, delirium and complex crisis situations, as well as promoting reflective practice.
• Managing quality and development processes on the ward.
• Promoting collaboration with relatives and key persons as well as with internal departments and external care partners.

Your profile

• Diploma as a nursing specialist HF or FH or an equivalent foreign qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross.
• Several years of professional experience in psychiatric nursing. Experience in geriatric psychiatry is an advantage.
• Leadership experience as well as completed leadership training or willingness to undertake appropriate further training.
• Clear, appreciative and participatory leadership style.
• Organisational skills and confident action in demanding situations.
• Interest in evidence-based nursing, quality development and change processes.
