About the job
The City of Langenthal forms the center of the Bernese Oberaargau with a catchment area of around 80,000 people and, with around 16,300 inhabitants, is the eighth largest municipality in the canton of Bern. Our family-friendly and popular outdoor pool is one of the most beautiful in the canton of Bern. Around 100,000 bathers from Langenthal and the region visit the attractive bathing facility annually.
Pool Attendant (approx. 30%)
To complete our team, we are looking for a pool attendant (approx. 30% part-time hourly wage, mainly Monday and Tuesday) from May 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.
This is your job
- Supervision duty at the water and monitoring tasks in the rest of the operation
- First aid in case of accidents and incidents
- Monitoring and operation of technical equipment
- Carrying out controls and sampling such as water samples
- Handling chemicals
- Independently performing cleaning and other maintenance work
- Care and maintenance of green areas as well as playground equipment
- Preparing the facility for winter and reopening
This is what you bring
- Completed vocational training as well as SRC training "Swiss Pool Master Certificate" or "Certificate igba Pro" or "Pro Pool Certificate (SLRG) including BLS-AED"
- Alternatively, completed SRC training "Brevet Plus Pool including BLS-AED" and willingness to complete the "Swiss Pool Master Certificate" training
- Customer-friendly, helpful and service-oriented demeanor
- Experience in dealing with different groups of people
- Team player, flexible and resilient personality
- Open to irregular assignments including shift and weekend work
- Calmness during high visitor traffic
- Enjoyment of working outdoors
- Good physical condition
- Very good knowledge of German
