Department of Justice, Police and Military
The Office for Military and Civil Protection carries out the cantonal tasks according to the Military Act and the Civil Protection Act. This includes, among other things, the coordination of the various organisations and projects in civil protection, which includes police, fire brigade, civil protection, rescue service and technical services. The district command supports the army personnel from orientation day through recruitment and services to discharge from military service. The cantonal command staff analyses threats, prepares decisions in the event of an incident and coordinates the deployment of partner organisations.
The Office for Military and Civil Protection is seeking, due to the retirement of the previous post holder as of 1 December 2026, a female Coordinator Civil Protection and District Commander or a male Coordinator Civil Protection and District Commander in a 100% position.
Your tasks
- Develop, implement and review concepts and projects in the field of civil protection
- Lead the cantonal command staff (KFS) in special and extraordinary situations as chief of staff
- Develop and conduct exercises with the KFS and partner organisations
- Perform the function of district commander
- Implement the cantonal tasks according to the Military Act and the Civil Protection Act
- Participate in off-duty shooting activities
- Maintain contact with the troops
