About the job
As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner, Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are immediately seeking a motivated and committed Product Leader for a temporary assignment of 1 year, with the option to extend.
The Global Instruments Network (GIN) within Global Operations delivers reliable and innovative internally manufactured instruments for in-vitro diagnostics to customers worldwide. The network for instrument manufacturing comprises five global hubs (Ludwigsburg, Mannheim, Tucson, Suzhou, Rotkreuz). Together, Roche strives to continuously optimise manufacturing costs, deliver instruments of top quality on time, and bring differentiated innovations to market.
As a Product Leader, you are part of the 'Product Leadership' chapter within the Global Instruments Network. In this highly visible role, you act entrepreneurially and are the essential point of contact, serving as the "Single Point of Contact" that holds all threads together across functions, locations, and lifecycle phases. You bear full end-to-end responsibility for instruments and accompany your products throughout the entire lifecycle: from the operational part of developing new products, their transition into series production (NPI), through to the active market phase (Product Care) and the final phase-out. In close partnership with the Customer Area, you assume holistic product responsibility – always with the clear goal of creating the greatest added value for end customers and ultimately for patients.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Leadership in the matrix: Leading interdisciplinary, global product teams and orchestrating seamless collaboration between R&D, Operations, Quality, and Business as a bridge builder
- End-to-end ownership: Initiating and leading product care projects as well as strategic product transfers within the global network
- Entrepreneurial mindset: Responsibility for budget planning and proactively driving continuous optimisation of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as well as Standard Manufacturing Costs (SMC)
- Quality & compliance: Ensuring robust risk management, managing CAPA and change management processes, and acting confidently in a highly regulated environment
- Design for X (DfX): Implementing DfX principles with a clear focus on quality, manufacturability, and testability within the given framework conditions
- Digital pioneer role: Role model for the "Everyday AI" initiative and driving the use of modern digital tools to make processes smarter, more efficient, and more innovative
Must-Haves
- Completed degree (e.g. engineering, medical technology, ideally Master or PhD) with solid technical knowledge in hardware, software, and laboratory diagnostics
- Several years of solid professional experience (at least 4-6 years) in production, process optimisation, and lifecycle management
- Agile leadership understanding according to the VACC principles (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) with the ability to inspire and lead teams to success without formal disciplinary authority
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, negotiation proficiency in German and English, and enjoyment of working in an intercultural environment across different time zones
- Solid experience in a regulated environment (FDA, IVDR, GMP)
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP, IPMA) and high willingness to travel (under 10% globally)
