About the job
Co-Class Teacher Cycle 2, 15 to 18 Lessons
Department: Education and Housing
Start date: 1 August 2026
What you can achieve with us
The children in the class are on the autism spectrum with and without visual impairment and are all taught in a 1:1 setting. The pupils are taught in their workrooms and only spend short periods in group settings. You will be supported in implementing the lessons by an educational team for which you will take on the educational leadership.
You plan age-appropriate lessons according to Curriculum 21 and carry them out together with the team. Individual education and support plans, which you create, serve as the basis for your teaching. In addition, you supervise the educational team, ensure coordination work, and maintain contact with the guardians and external specialist agencies. Administrative tasks such as maintaining the children's files and preparing reports also belong to your area of responsibility. Furthermore, you conduct progress meetings, participate in working groups, and help organise special weeks.
What you bring with you
You hold an EDK-recognised diploma in School Special Education, a primary teaching certificate, or are studying for a Master’s in School Special Education. Ideally, you already have experience teaching pupils on the autism spectrum with challenging behaviour or visually impaired children. You approach challenges, such as those presented by pupils from the autism spectrum (AS) and visual impairments, with the necessary professionalism and calm. You enjoy working with a committed team and contributing to a trusting and supportive atmosphere.
What you can look forward to
In your role, you take on a lot of responsibility and receive the corresponding scope for creativity.
Our culture is characterised by appreciation and openness. You work in a motivated and well-coordinated team. Regular meetings, supervisions, and professional consultations are part of this position.
The salary is based on the cantonal teacher employment law. Our other employment conditions, aligned with cantonal framework conditions, are also attractive. Learn more about this on our website.
