Job description:

• Professional and disciplinary leadership, motivation and development of subordinate managers and employees
• Responsibility for efficient personnel, deployment and shift planning including holiday, absence and emergency planning
• Ensuring quality, punctuality and costs within all operational logistics processes
• Control and optimisation of goods receipt, storage, order picking, shipping and inventory management
• Ensuring correct inventory management including stocktaking and inventory adjustments
• Responsibility for operational safety, availability and further development of automated warehouse and intralogistics systems
• Continuous improvement of logistics processes through Lean Management, Operational Excellence and process optimisation
• Planning and control of budgets, investments, operating resources and relevant KPIs
• Participation in cross-departmental optimisation and logistics projects
• Ensuring compliance with occupational safety, HSSE requirements, quality standards and legal regulations
• Close cooperation with production, planning, purchasing, order processing, IT, quality management as well as external suppliers and service providers

About the customer:

For an internationally active industrial company in the Zurich Oberland region, we are seeking an experienced leader as Head of Logistics (m/f/d). In this responsible role, you will lead and develop the operational logistics organisation and ensure efficient, safe and high-quality handling of all logistics processes.

The position is intended as a fixed-term project assignment until April 2027.

Requirements:

• Completed technical or logistics basic training, for example as a logistics specialist with a federal diploma (EFZ)
• Ideally further training in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or similar
• At least 5 years of professional experience in logistics, intralogistics or warehouse management within an industrial, production, trade or logistics environment
• Several years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Solid experience in Lean Management, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and process optimisation
• Very good knowledge of SAP, ideally in the modules EWM, MM, SD and/or PP
• Experience with automated warehouse solutions, high-bay warehouses, conveyor technology or robotics is an advantage
• Strong leadership and coaching skills as well as entrepreneurial and solution-oriented thinking
• High degree of independence, decisiveness and strong communication skills
• Structured, reliable and pragmatic working style
• Very good German and English skills spoken and written

You will take on a central leadership role within a modern and internationally oriented industrial organisation. You will have the opportunity to actively further develop operational logistics as well as its processes, systems and structures.

The position combines people leadership, operational logistics, intralogistics, lean management and process optimisation and thus offers considerable scope for design and high visibility within the organisation.
