Temporary Workshop Supervisor Assistant, 80 - 100%With around 1,400 employees, the Department of Justice and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. With around 400 detention places, it is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfils a central state function and, according to legal mandate, contributes to the protection of the public while simultaneously creating the conditions for the resocialisation of the admitted persons.
We are looking for you immediately or by arrangement as a resilient personality with pronounced social skills. Together with your experienced professional colleagues, you will supervise and support admitted persons at the employment and workplaces in the correctional trades. The position is limited to one year.
Your tasks
- Ensuring order and safety in the workshop and accompanying a regulated work operation
- Guiding and supporting the admitted persons in their daily tasks
- Responsibility for the care and promotion of a group of admitted persons in security-oriented enforcement
- Planning and coordinating employment assignments while considering individual abilities and resources
- Maintaining regular communication with the residential group and fostering close interdisciplinary collaboration
- Observing developments and behaviours and documenting them in reports and assessments
Your profile
- A basic vocational training (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification
- Professional experience in a craft environment as well as interest in work-related social pedagogy with people is advantageous
- Pronounced social competence and enjoyment in accompanying and promoting people in special life situations
- Team-oriented, flexible and resilient personality with a positive attitude
- Good German skills in spoken and written form as well as confident MS Office skills; additional language skills are an advantage
- Minimum age 25 years and a clean record (no entries in the criminal and debt registers)
