Bertrams is an independent, internationally oriented engineering company in chemical plant construction. At the headquarters in Muttenz near Basel as well as the subsidiaries in Beijing, Shanghai and Mumbai, a total of around 120 people work. Our many years of experience and profound know-how in process engineering, design, international project management and procurement have made us the world market leader in the field of processing and recycling of caustic soda.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Proposal Engineer (all genders) with a workplace at the headquarters in Muttenz/BL, starting immediately or by arrangement.

Main tasks

You study the customer's inquiry documents with the aim of submitting a commercially and technically complete written offer within the specified time. This essentially includes:

• Development of technical concepts and solutions, process engineering design of the plant and its main components, combined with the corresponding calculation
• Preparation of offers, which include, among other things: process description, scope of delivery and services, list of equipment with key figures, project schedule, process guarantees, commercial conditions
• Input for the creation of plant concepts (layout, PFD, etc.)
• Technical discussion with our customers
• Representation of the company in meetings and video conferences

Your profile

• You have a degree as a graduate engineer in the field of process engineering or mechanical engineering with a focus on plant and process engineering (or equivalent)
• Ideally several years of professional experience in sales or in the planning of investment projects in plant construction (ideally in the chemical environment)
• Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written
• You work independently, precisely, purposefully and have an efficient and structured way of working even under (time) pressure from customers
• Very good communication and moderation skills to present our products
• Willingness to relocate near Basel/Muttenz
• Ideally Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen
