The Department of School and Sport is responsible for central topics around education, care and exercise. Head of Finance Department of School and Sport (90 - 100%)
Member of the Executive Board
You are responsible for the financial management of the department and lead a team of six specialists in accounting and controlling. Together with your team, you manage the budget, investment planning, forecasts, annual financial statements as well as financial and task planning. You create meaningful decision-making bases, identify financial leeway and advise department and area management as well as political committees on financial matters. As a member of the executive board, you bring the financial perspective into overarching issues. In addition, you further develop processes and control instruments and contribute to topics such as digitalisation, IT and risk management.
You have a business administration education at FH level or a comparable qualification with a focus on finance/controlling as well as several years of experience in a comparable leadership position. As an entrepreneurially minded, analytically skilled and solution-oriented leader, you shape financial processes proactively. You keep an overview, make well-founded decisions and incorporate different perspectives into your work. At the same time, you promote and support your team, develop potentials and create a trusting working environment. In dealing with different stakeholders, you act confidently thanks to your communication, consulting and social skills and have a good understanding of political contexts. A high IT affinity is expected; knowledge of Abacus is an advantage.
