Your Mission
Precision opticians manufacture high-precision optical components such as lenses, mirrors, prisms, and other plano and spherical optical parts. These are used in optical devices for medical technology, photography, and film technology, as well as in surveying technology.
At STORZ, we focus on the production of components for medical technology. Your tasks as an apprentice include grinding, lapping, and polishing prisms, plano plates, aspheres, and cylindrical lenses. You will work with the highest precision and care, as the quality of the optical components is crucial for their later use in medical devices. You will learn to handle various measuring instruments and use them specifically for quality control. Additionally, assembling, gluing, and mounting the optical components are important activities for you. These work steps require manual skill and a good technical understanding.
