Train traffic control is an indispensable part of railway operations. Here, you ensure that our passengers reach their destination safely and punctually.

From 1 September 2027, we are looking for you for the 3-year training as a railway worker in train traffic control (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at the locations Bad Kleinen, Neuruppin or Rostock. The vocational school is located in Güstrow.

With the training, you will become the coordinator of our trains. For this, you do not sit on the train but in a control centre (called a "signal box"). We have countless of these throughout Germany. Via screens or boards, you can observe the trains in your area and influence the movement of the trains using buttons, keys and levers. Because at the push of a button, you can set signals (traffic lights for trains) to green or red and also switch points so that trains can change tracks. Many other tasks make you the most important team member for the train drivers. You are constantly in contact and exchange information, for example about changes during the journey.

With your small team, you work in the "Schwerin Network" at a signal box close to the action. This roughly covers the Mecklenburg area and north-western Brandenburg. Here you see the trains passing by. The control of the trains is mostly done via levers, push buttons or rotary switches.

You will also get to know the electronic signal boxes of the region. Here you can track the trains on many screens and control train traffic with a mouse click.

This is what to expect in your training:

• Your colleagues will show you step by step how to operate the technology in a signal box correctly
• You will learn when to press the right keys and buttons to switch signals (traffic lights) or points (transitions for a track change)
• You will often be in contact with other employees in train traffic control and control centres as well as with train drivers
• You are an important part of our team and enable our passengers to travel safely and punctually with our trains

Your profile:

• You have (soon) successfully completed school and your school leaving certificate is recognised in Germany
• Your German language skills correspond to at least B2 level
• You remain calm and keep an overview even in demanding situations
• You like to take responsibility and work with concentration
• Teamwork and reliability characterise you
• You are willing to work in shifts
