What does it take for an initial idea to become a Ricola product that delights people all over the world? Your sense of taste, your curiosity, and your food technology expertise. In our strong R&D team, you develop new recipes, test prototypes for quality and our typical Ricola characteristics, and accompany your ideas through to first production. In doing so, you help shape the future of our products and continually bring new impulses to tried and tested ones. You enjoy contributing to our team and truly living our values through collaboration. You can certainly expect a highly varied daily routine, always revolving around our Swiss Alpine herbs. Your mission:
- You develop new products in the field of sweet confectionery – from the initial recipe approach through prototypes and scale-up to first production
- You optimise and modify existing products and find solutions that convince in taste, appearance, effect, raw materials, and costs
- You evaluate new raw and active ingredients and incorporate exciting developments in ingredients, manufacturing processes, and technologies into your work
- You test prototypes and scale-up samples with trained senses, your experience, and analytical methods. You also evaluate results from stress and stability tests
- You document your developments and test results comprehensibly and ensure compliance with food law requirements
- In innovation projects, you represent product development, make technical decisions, and involve stakeholders on the way to the finished product
- Together with Product Management, Marketing, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Production, Quality Assurance, and Controlling, you bring good ideas into implementation
- You also take on central tasks in the team, such as maintaining raw material inventories, updating our system environment, and supporting sensory testing procedures
Your ingredients for shared success.
- Degree in food technology, food engineering, process engineering, or a comparable qualification
- At least five years of experience in food development, ideally in the field of sweet confectionery
- Sound knowledge in recipe and prototype development, sensory analysis, and scale-up, as well as a good understanding of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and food law requirements
- Enjoyment of experimenting, a sense for new trends, and the drive to continuously improve products
- A structured, independent working style and the ability to combine quality and economic requirements
- Enjoyment of collaboration with different departments and sharing your ideas and knowledge
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
- Experience with SAP-based recipe systems and sensory evaluation tools is a plus; knowledge of herbs and medicinal plants or extraction processes is also welcome
