The Company

Our client is an established Swiss company and one of the well-known suppliers of machines, systems and equipment for professional woodworking. They distribute high-quality woodworking machines from renowned manufacturers in Switzerland and take care of their installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical service. The broad range extends from classic woodworking machines to modern CNC machining centres. A well-organised customer service with its own spare parts department ensures professional support for customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their machines.

To strengthen the service team, we are looking for a technically skilled individual who enjoys working independently and is keen to immerse themselves in the exciting world of modern woodworking and CNC machines.

Your Tasks

• Service, maintenance and repair work on woodworking and CNC machines
• Systematic fault finding and rectification of technical faults in the areas of mechanics, electrical/electronics and pneumatics
• Installation and commissioning of new machines at the customer’s site
• Carrying out adjustments, function checks and technical modifications
• Technical support and advice to customers on site
• Independent execution of assigned service tasks
• Collaboration with internal scheduling, spare parts department and technical support
• Occasional technical exchange with machine manufacturers in Northern Italy
• Field service assignments in the German-speaking part of Switzerland starting directly from home

Your Profile

• Completed technical vocational training with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ), for example as an automotive mechatronics technician, automation technician, polymechanic, agricultural machinery mechanic or in a comparable technical profession
• Good technical understanding and solid basic mechanical knowledge
• Interest in electrical engineering, electronics, pneumatics and modern machine controls
• Enjoyment of fault finding, technical challenges and independent problem solving
• Independent, reliable and customer-oriented working style
• Enjoyment of customer contact and a varied role in field service
• Willingness to thoroughly familiarise yourself with the machines and technologies
• Good knowledge of German
• Knowledge of Italian or English is advantageous for occasional exchanges and training with the machine manufacturers in Northern Italy
• Driving licence category B

School leavers and young professionals are also welcome. Experience as a service technician or with CNC and woodworking machines is not required. What matters is a good technical basic education, willingness to learn and the motivation to develop step by step into an independent service technician.
