The Office for the Environment (AfU) is responsible for implementing federal laws on environmental protection and water protection to ensure a balance between the natural environment and its use by humans. To this end, it monitors the environmental status, contributes to the precautionary limitation of harmful effects of new activities, ensures the remediation of problematic facilities, and informs authorities and the public about environmentally harmful behaviour.

Your tasks

• Performing physico-chemical analyses of environmental samples
• Assisting with sampling campaigns in the field
• Applying the requirements of the quality assurance system according to ISO 17025 and contributing to its compliance
• Ensuring preparation, management and traceability of samples in the laboratory
• Contributing to smooth laboratory operations and active teamwork

Desired profile

• Laboratory technician EFZ specialising in chemistry or equivalent qualification
• Experience with laboratory work in a standardised environment
• Enjoyment of fieldwork and environmental sampling
• Strong team and cooperation skills
• Familiarity with technical tasks as well as operation and maintenance of testing equipment
• Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in German or French with very good knowledge of the other language
