About the job
Your new role
You will lead the Road Inspectorate and be responsible for the proper and sustainable maintenance of all public roads, paths, squares, and civil engineering structures throughout the city area. This includes organising the winter service, preparing and coordinating the annual construction programme, as well as supervising projects and tenders. Furthermore, you bring an understanding of the diverse demands on public spaces. You will lead a committed team, manage the budget and operating accounts, and ensure systematic condition recording according to the Road Maintenance Management System (MSE). As an important interface, you represent the Road Inspectorate externally, in specialist committees, and to the media.
This position is for you if
- You have a degree as a civil engineer ETH, FH, or a comparable qualification.
- You have several years of leadership experience in a similar role.
- You possess sound knowledge of proper and sustainable operational and structural maintenance of public roads, paths, and squares, as well as in digitalisation and management for road maintenance.
- You have a strong customer orientation and a good understanding of the various concerns of the citizenry.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
