Your area of responsibility
- Professional, financial and personnel management of the Cantonal Roads department with the decentralised regional areas, signage and maintenance management with approximately 90 employees
- Active participation in the management of the Civil Engineering Office and further development of the medium- to long-term strategic goals in the Civil Engineering Office and the department for the reliable operation and maintenance including civil engineering structures, traffic control systems, lighting and other ancillary facilities
- Ensuring the necessary personnel resources and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration within the department, the office and the directorate
- Investment planning within the existing overarching processes and budget control
- Overall management of maintenance and renewal measures as well as structural and operational upkeep and maintenance of technical road facilities
- Responsibility for service management through coordination of internal and external services within the department
- Ensuring a contemporary and smooth incident and winter service for the entire cantonal road network
Your background
- Successfully completed degree in engineering or comparable qualification with extensive knowledge in civil engineering and road infrastructure
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in a comparable position with technical and personnel management
- Innovative spirit, adaptability to change, strong organisational skills and high problem-solving competence
- Clear and target group-appropriate oral and written communication
- Self-motivation and the ability to delegate tasks effectively

Civil Engineering Office
The Civil Engineering Office ensures a powerful and safe infrastructure for roads and railways, is responsible for flood protection as well as the design of natural waters and sets the course for the current and future mobility needs of our society. The Cantonal Roads department ensures safe, functional and operational cantonal roads.
