Tasks
Maintaining machines: You maintain and repair agricultural machinery, small machines and various devices. In doing so, you independently identify and rectify electronic as well as hydraulic faults.
Inspecting vehicles: Your task is to prepare vehicles for the motor vehicle inspection. You ensure that they can be used safely and reliably.
Supporting the team: You assist the departments in procuring machines, equipment and vehicles. Even in busy times, you pitch in and help your team.
Assembling machines: Your work also includes dismantling and assembling machines from various manufacturers. You work precisely and apply your knowledge in electronics, hydraulics and welding technology.
Profile
Experience: Sound knowledge in electrical engineering, electronics, hydraulics and welding technology is part of your expertise. Experience with PC applications and electric vehicles is an advantage.
Personality: You work independently, reliably and service-oriented. You enjoy varied and precise tasks, and you like working in a team and supporting your colleagues.
Training: You have completed training as an agricultural machinery mechanic with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ). Ideally, you have professional development as a trainer or are willing to complete this course. A driving licence category B is required; category BE is an advantage.
Language: You have good oral and written German skills. This enables you to communicate clearly and confidently within the team and with the departments.

The City Gardening department, affiliated with the Construction and Transport Department, is responsible for the green lung in the densely populated area of Basel-Stadt. It maintains around 240 hectares of green and open spaces in over 50 parks and green areas, recreational garden areas and several cemeteries, and regularly renovates 60 playgrounds. In its work, it is committed to rich biodiversity in the urban area and a unique cultural heritage. For 160 years, the dedication of City Gardening has served Basel’s urban greenery and thus the public.
