COMSOL develops simulation software that enables engineers and scientists to solve complex technical problems and develop new products and technologies. For our Swiss team in the Technopark Zurich, we are looking for a Technical Sales and Application Engineer specialising in Electromagnetics. You will combine technical expertise with customer contact and sales, working with leading engineering and research teams in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Your Responsibilities

You will work at the interface of simulation, customer consulting, and technical sales. Your tasks include:

• Analysing technical questions from prospects and customers and developing suitable simulation solutions with COMSOL Multiphysics®
• Creating and presenting software demonstrations for electromagnetic and multiphysics applications
• Supporting prospects in the evaluation of COMSOL Multiphysics®
• Advising existing customers on complex simulation tasks
• Developing new customers, applications, and business opportunities together with our sales team
• Conducting webinars, workshops, and training sessions online and on-site
• The technical focus is on low-frequency electromagnetics and electrical engineering. At the same time, you will gain insight into a wide range of multiphysics applications.

Your Profile

You are technically skilled, communicative, and enjoy understanding and explaining complex issues clearly. You are also interested in customer consulting and technical sales. You bring:

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field
• At least two years of practical experience modelling electromagnetic applications in COMSOL Multiphysics®
• Solid knowledge of electromagnetics, Maxwell's equations, and numerical methods
• Experience in a relevant application area, e.g. energy and power grid technology, electrical machines, microsystems technology, or medical technology
• Enjoyment of customer contact and interest in technical sales; excellent presentation and communication skills
• German or French at near-native level as well as professional English skills
• Valid work permit for Switzerland
• Advantageous are in-depth experience with the AC/DC Module or RF Module, practical modelling experience, familiarity with the Swiss research, development, and industrial landscape, and a good network.
