For the Canalservices department, which consists of about thirty employees, we are looking for motivated individuals who want to combine technical work with driving a vehicle at our customers' sites.

Passenger Suction Truck / Sewer Rehabilitation Employee 100% (M/F)

The passenger of the suction truck supports the driver in cleaning, pumping, pipe cleaning and cleaning of wastewater networks while complying with safety regulations, environmental protection and operational procedures.

Your tasks are as follows:

• Supporting the driver during assignments on construction sites.
• Preparing, installing and tidying up the equipment.
• Handling hoses, flexible pipes and cleaning devices.
• Participating in high-pressure flushing of pipelines.
• Assisting with pumping and suction operations of sludge and waste.
• Cleaning shafts, gutters, pits and facilities.
• Monitoring the proper course of work and reporting any irregularities to the driver.
• Cleaning the vehicle and equipment after each assignment.
• Participating in ongoing maintenance of the equipment.
• Complying with traffic, safety and signalling regulations on construction sites.
• Correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Adhering to regulations for transport and disposal of waste.

Responsibilities
The passenger is particularly responsible for:

• the proper use of the equipment entrusted to them;
• complying with the instructions of the driver or site manager;
• their own safety and that of persons on the construction site;
• maintenance of the equipment (cleanliness and functionality);
• immediate reporting of any dangerous or faulty situation.

Your profile:

Expertise:

• Use of construction site materials and common tools.
• Basic knowledge of wastewater networks is desirable.
• Ability to handle hoses and pump/cleaning equipment.
• Strict adherence to safety procedures.
• Perfect German skills (speaking and understanding) as well as very good French skills

Personal skills:

• Punctuality and reliability.
• Good physical condition.
• Team spirit.
• Independence and sense of responsibility.
• Caution and vigilance.
• Good resilience when working outdoors and under sometimes difficult conditions.
• Respect for the material and instructions.

Experience in pipe cleaning, sewer rehabilitation, public construction or on construction sites is an advantage, but internal training is possible for motivated individuals.

Driving licence: Depending on the company organisation, a category B driving licence may be required. A heavy goods vehicle licence is an advantage, especially to enable progression to a suction truck driver position.
