The High-Energy Physics Group at PSI is part of the CMS collaboration at the CERN LHC with leading contributions in detector development, operation and data analysis, where the main focus is on Standard Model and Higgs boson physics. The group is also playing an active role in the upgrade of the CMS detector for the High-Luminosity LHC and is engaged in detector R&D for application in next-generation experiments such as FCC-ee detectors.

Your tasks

In close cooperation with scientists, students and technicians at PSI as well as with collaborating groups your work will focus on:

R&D for silicon pixel detector technology for high-energy physics experi-ments

ASIC design of test structures and prototype devices in monolithic or hybrid pixel detector technology

Contributions to the testing and characterization of prototype devices

Participation in the graduate school and teaching activities at the University of Zurich

Your profile

Master degree in physics with excellent grades

Experience in electronics or instrumentation is desirable

Knowledge in Linux, C++, Python and ROOT is an advantage

Proficiency in English
