Company Description
The Office for Culture of the Liechtenstein State Administration (www.aku.llv.li) deals with the cultural past, present and future of Liechtenstein and unites central cultural tasks of the country. The State Archive department preserves analogue and digital archival material of all state bodies, professionally indexes it and makes it accessible to the public. We also support archive users with advice and information. Furthermore, we take over archival material from private individuals, associations and institutions, provided it is of significance for the country’s history.
Job Description
You feel at home in the following areas of activity:
- Indexing analogue and digital archival material, especially older collections (from around 1880)
- Creating and implementing indexing concepts
- Supporting and advising archive users (in writing, by phone, in person)
- Providing analogue and digital archival material to archive users
- Reception duties and reading room supervision during opening hours
- Participation in public relations such as archive tours, managing the website and social media channels
Qualifications
You are particularly characterised by the following for this position:
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in history, archival or information sciences or a comparable qualification with experience in the archival field
- Experience in indexing archival collections
- Reading skills in Kurrent and Fraktur script
- Service- and customer-oriented, careful and structured working style
- Very good oral and written expression as well as confident spelling
- Broad historical knowledge of the 19th and 20th centuries and good general education
- Interest in the history of Liechtenstein
