Historical Institute
Start of employment: 01.01.2026 or by agreement
The employment is limited to 12 months.
At the Historical Institute of the University of Bern, we research and teach history in its full thematic breadth and methodological diversity. The research deals with the history of Europe from antiquity to the present as well as with the historical past of non-European regions.
Tasks
- Preparation of a research proposal to the Swiss National Science Foundation or another research institution
- Conducting a course for bachelor students in the spring or autumn semester of 2026
Requirements
- Completed doctorate in history, which should not be more than three years old at the time of employment
- Independent and structured working style
- Initiative in research and teaching
- Regular presence in Bern and participation in the institute's life
