These are your tasks:
- Design and evaluation of electric machines with regard to customer requirements, costs, material usage and thermal boundary conditions
- Development and further advancement of a toolchain for analytical preliminary design, FEM simulation, characteristic map calculation, parameter variation, optimisation and result documentation
- Evaluation of different topologies such as PMSM/IPM/SPM etc. as well as customer-specific special concepts including plausibility checks
- Analysis and optimisation of the magnetic circuit, winding concept etc. of an electric motor
- Support of concept decisions regarding performance, costs etc. with a strong focus on technical evaluation and industrialisation
- Evaluation of electric motor designs from third-party suppliers
- Hands-on mentality: close collaboration with testing, manufacturing, customers etc.
- Correlation of simulation results with test bench, prototype and supplier data
This is what you bring with you:
- Completed studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics, mechanical engineering with a focus on electric drives or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in the design, simulation and development of electric machines, ideally in the automotive or commercial vehicle sector
- Very good understanding of electromagnetic machine design, including magnetic circuits, windings, losses, characteristic maps, material properties as well as interactions with thermal, mechanical and power electronics
- Confident handling of simulation and calculation tools for electric machines; experience with automated workflows, scripting or optimisation is an advantage
- Experience in correlating simulation and measurement results as well as in evaluating prototype or test bench data
- Understanding of the industrialisation of electric motors is expressly advantageous, especially with regard to manufacturing-oriented design and series production robustness
