By law, it insures all buildings in the canton of Bern against fire and natural hazard damage. Built on solidarity for over 200 years, it stands for triple protection through prevention, intervention, and insurance. The Natural Hazards Department takes care of prevention and intervention measures to effectively protect buildings in the canton of Bern from natural hazards such as hail, water, or storms.
