What you'll be doing here
- You contribute to the national NAIPO flagship on AI for precision oncology and to SP2 on biomedical large language models for clinical text.
- You develop and evaluate methods for de-identification, anonymization and privacy-preserving use of sensitive clinical data.
- You work on LLM-based applications for information extraction, summarization, retrieval-augmented generation and clinical decision support.
- You support BFH's contribution to SP6, the patient engagement mobile app, by integrating SP2-based LLM components for patient-friendly medical explanations.
- You publish scientific results, contribute to project reports and work toward a PhD in close collaboration with national research, clinical and industry partners.
What you'll bring with you
- A master's degree in computer science, data science, medical informatics, computational linguistics, biomedical engineering or a related field.
- Strong programming skills, ideally in Python, and experience with machine learning, NLP, LLMs or data engineering.
- Interest in responsible AI, data protection, health data, oncology and patient-centered digital health.
- A careful, independent and collaborative working style in interdisciplinary research environments.
- Very good English skills; German is an advantage, French or Italian are welcome.
