Specialist in Sports Facility Maintenance (with Trainer Function)

Tasks

• You support the operations management as a deputy and take responsibility in their absence. In doing so, you create and implement work and concept instructions, coordinate facility maintenance, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and participate in projects and special tasks. You also support personnel, training, and game planning.
• You carry out daily cleaning and maintenance work on the facility as well as on machines and equipment, performing these according to quality standards.
• You commission and decommission the facilities and carry out safety checks.
• You ensure the correct allocation of infrastructure and a smooth training and game operation. You adjust short-term booking changes using the appropriate software.
• As a committed trainer, you support and promote our young talents by accompanying them on their professional path and imparting specialist knowledge as well as practical skills.

Profile

• Completed vocational training with a Federal VET Diploma as a maintenance specialist with knowledge in cleaning and technical-craft areas. In addition, you already have initial experience as a trainer or are willing to pursue this path.
• Ideally, you have basic knowledge in sports turf care as well as experience in the operation and maintenance of sports or leisure facilities.
• Very good oral and written communication skills in German as well as solid IT user knowledge.
• A flexible, sports-enthusiastic, friendly, and independent personality with a high service orientation, strong commitment, and good manners.
• Willingness to work irregular hours as well as evening and weekend shifts at various facilities.

The Sports Office is a service department of the School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich. It is the competence centre for sports promotion and provides sports facilities including indoor and outdoor pools to the sports-enthusiastic population and clubs. The organisation of compulsory swimming lessons as well as voluntary school sports are also core tasks of the Sports Office. With targeted information, the Sports Office motivates more movement and advises and supports sports organisations.
