Data Enabler, Specialist Data Governance 80 - 100%According to the decision to introduce cantonal Data Governance (RRB No. 444/2026), data is to be systematically managed and further developed in terms of quality, availability and use. This creates the foundation for data-based decisions, multiple use of data and the responsible use of new technologies, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The Statistical Office acts as the cantonal "Data Competence Centre" and coordinates Data Governance within the Zurich cantonal administration. It supports the directorates and the State Chancellery with professional advice and central services in the further development of cantonal data maturity.
As part of this competence centre, you will help build the nervous system through which the Canton of Zurich will systematically control its data for the first time.
From September 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for a
Data Enabler, Specialist Data Governance (80–100%)
Your tasks
- You advise Data Owners and Data Stewards on data management issues.
- You design training and empowerment formats that strengthen data literacy and promote a lively data culture. You support organisational units in implementing Data Governance requirements and in their data projects.
- You assist organisational units in mapping their data landscape in the data catalogue, thereby creating the basis for its targeted further development.
- You contribute your practical experience to the further development of standards, methods and tools of Data Governance.
Your profile
- Solid experience and practical skills in the areas of Data Governance, Data Management and data-related digitalisation.
- Knowledge of common frameworks (e.g. DAMA, DCAM) is an advantage.
- University degree in Data Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification.
- Strong skills in business analysis and communication.
- Experience in mediation, training or empowerment; didactics is an advantage.
- Excellent German language skills, both spoken and written.
