With around 27,000 inhabitants, there is always something happening in the city of Wetzikon. For the various concerns and needs of the population, there are different contact points. As an apprentice, you will gain insights into up to six different departments. Possible areas of deployment include, for example: Debt collection office, resident services, finance, HR, presidential + development, school administration, social services, social insurance, taxes and civil registry office. This way, you get to know the breadth and diversity of public administration up close.


Your tasks

During your training, you will take on varied and responsible tasks. You advise and inform citizens by phone or at the counter, process applications and enquiries, perform administrative work on the computer and support the specialist departments in their daily business. In doing so, you work both independently and in a team and continuously develop yourself. The combination of direct customer contact and diverse organisational tasks makes the training particularly exciting and versatile.


Your profile

  • Secondary school A with good grades in the main subjects
  • Interest in administrative topics and enjoyment of administrative work
  • Good oral and written expression
  • Sense of responsibility, willingness to learn and ability to work in a team
  • Enjoyment of working with people
  • Good accessibility of the city administration and the vocational school Uster

Your future

The Wetzikon city administration offers you a solid commercial apprenticeship in a motivating and supportive environment. You will be personally accompanied by our training manager and benefit from the experience of well-trained practical trainers. In addition, you can expect 27 days of holiday per year, an annual apprentice excursion as well as cost contributions for teaching materials, language certificates and language stays.
