Our strength? A perfect understanding of local issues, a human approach, and a technology designed to make a difference.
To support our ambition, we are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer / Data Platform Lead (Snowflake, Power BI, AI) to take full ownership of our BI and analytics foundation.
About the role
This is not a classic "Data Scientist" role.
You will be the owner of the entire BI and analytics data platform, from data ingestion to certified datasets used in Power BI, and later to AI-powered features integrated into the product.
You will design, build and operate a modern data stack centered around Snowflake, enabling:
- reliable business reporting;
- high-quality datasets for dashboards built by the finance team;
- and advanced data exploitation for product features (AI, personalization, scoring, automation, etc.).
You will act as both:
- a hands-on senior engineer, and
- a data platform architect, defining best practices, standards and long-term strategy.
In the future, this role can naturally evolve toward building and leading a small data team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end data platform: ingestion of sources, modeling and normalization, data quality and governance, exposure of certified datasets for Power BI.
- Design and maintain a scalable and robust architecture on Snowflake.
- Build a single source of truth for business metrics.
- Partner closely with finance, product, marketing and operations to translate business needs into reliable data models.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, documentation and stability of datasets.
- Prepare datasets specifically optimized for Power BI (semantic layer, performance, consistency).
- Explore and implement AI-based use cases: personalization, recommendation, automation, product intelligence.
- Contribute to data strategy, architecture choices and long-term roadmap.
- Guarantee compliance with GDPR and data security standards in collaboration with legal and IT teams.
Requirements
Who we are looking for
This role targets a senior data professional with strong BI and data platform culture, not a research-oriented data scientist.
Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or BI/Data Platform ownership roles.
- Strong expertise in: Snowflake, SQL (advanced), data modeling (analytics modeling, star schema, semantic layer).
- Experience with modern data stack tools: dbt (strongly appreciated), Airbyte/Fivetran or similar ELT tools, Power BI (especially datasets / semantic models, not only dashboards).
- Solid Python skills for data processing and automation.
- Strong understanding of data quality, testing, documentation and observability.
Data mindset:
- You care about: reliability, maintainability, clarity of models and business usability of data.
- You think in terms of products and consumers of data, not only pipelines.
AI & product orientation:
- Experience or strong interest in applying AI to real products: LLMs, recommendation systems, scoring, personalization, automation workflows.
- You understand the difference between experimentation and production-grade AI.
Soft Skills:
- High level of autonomy and ownership.
- Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business problems into data architecture decisions.
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
Benefits
What we offer
- Flexible location: Switzerland (Lausanne / Zurich) or remote across the EU.
- A strategic role with full ownership of the BI and data platform.
- Direct impact on both business intelligence and product innovation.
- A fast-growing scale-up environment with real decision-making power.
- A collaborative and product-driven culture
- Meal and Mobility allowance on your Swibeco Card.
- Gifts for birthdays/jubilees/Christmas.
- Permanent discounts for your daily savings on over 400 favorite brands in Switzerland and bordering countries.
- A true team spirit, flexible working conditions, and modern office facilities.
- Free coffee and beverages to keep you energized!
