Protection & Rescue Zurich (SRZ) combines, as a service department of the Security Department, the professional and militia fire brigades, the ambulance service, and the operations control centre (ELZ) for emergency calls 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police and a training centre with an affiliated Higher Technical School for Rescue Professions (HFRB) belong to the largest civilian rescue organisation in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, property and the environment around the clock in the city of Zurich, at Zurich Airport and in the agglomeration.
Tasks
- Technical inspection of shelter shells, armoured doors, emergency exits and ventilation units. Functional check of overpressure valves and explosion protection valves
- Checking the operational readiness of shelter equipment (e.g. dry toilets, resting places) as well as acceptance and approval of constructed shelters
- Appointment scheduling and coordination with property owners and real estate management
- Preparation of defect reports, legal enforcement of rectification deadlines and various other administrative tasks
Profile
- Completed vocational training in a craft-technical profession (EFZ in construction or related trade)
- Completed certificate course as a shelter inspector (BABS/Canton) or willingness to complete this promptly
- Good IT skills as well as confident German language skills in speaking and writing
- High social competence in dealing with the public, assertiveness and conflict management skills
- Strong coordination skills, confident appearance and balanced personality, high initiative and strong customer orientation
