Actively shape our SMD production
Aafag AG is a Swiss company with around 85 employees, combining development services, test and inspection equipment manufacturing, electronics production, and end-of-product-life services under one roof.
Our main site is located in Kleinandelfingen (ZH). Production currently takes place mostly in Diessenhofen (TG) and will be largely relocated to Kleinandelfingen during 2027.
You have experience in SMD production and want to apply your technical know-how in a modern production environment? Then become part of our team and actively shape our SMD production.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the smooth operation of the entire SMD line.
- Setting up, equipping, and programming SMD placement, AOI, and SPI systems.
- Creating and maintaining placement programmes based on CAD, ODB++, and product data.
- Maintaining component and package libraries.
- Monitoring and optimising the paste printing process including stencil, squeegee, and solder paste management.
- Recording, approving, and periodically reviewing reflow soldering profiles.
- Maintenance, servicing, and optimisation of SMD equipment as well as troubleshooting technical faults.
- Conducting quality inspections and fault analyses according to IPC standards.
- Ensuring traceability of materials and assemblies (traceability).
- Creating and maintaining process documentation.
- Continuous improvement of workflows and processes.
- Evaluating production metrics (e.g. first pass yield, OEE, setup times, and scrap) and deriving improvement measures.
- Qualifying new products (NPI) and providing technical support during industrialisation and first article production.
Your profile
- Several years of professional experience in SMD production.
- Experience in setting up, programming, and optimising SMD placement, AOI, and SPI systems.
- Good knowledge of the entire SMD process chain including reflow soldering and quality inspection.
- Experience with reflow profiling systems (e.g. KIC or Datapaq) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of MSL handling according to IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 is an advantage.
- Experience with ASM, Mycronic, or Vi machines is a plus.
- IPC knowledge or an IPC certification (IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001) is an advantage – further training is supported.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibility within SMD production if required.
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
- Quality awareness, initiative, and sense of responsibility.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork.
- Very good German language skills, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to work in a two-shift system (operating hours 06:00–22:00).
