About the job
The specialised Logistics department ensures the timely supply of the Bern Cantonal Police with materials, equipment and devices. It guarantees the availability of intervention equipment and that the necessary resources are permanently accessible and in good condition at all sites.
Your tasks
- Manage stock throughout the canton of Bern, including inventory, goods receipt control and quality control, as well as organising replenishment
- Ensure the availability of all equipment and materials at various sites (preparation, refurbishment, maintenance and coordination of repairs)
- Provide logistical support to operational forces during order services and internal events
- Coordinate equipment in connection with deployments for order service units during interventions and training sessions
- Organise, assemble and dismantle, as well as technically manage audio and video installations during internal events
- Provide on-call services in the specialised Logistics field
Your profile
- Completed vocational training, ideally in logistics, technical or manual fields (e.g. Federal VET Diploma as a logistician or equivalent)
- Professional experience in stock management and good knowledge of SAP (inventory, item sheet, serial numbers, minimum durability date, etc.)
- Technical understanding of the use of equipment and devices (including audio/video installations) and affinity for the safe handling of weapons and ammunition
- Identification with the values of the Bern Cantonal Police: "integrity", "sense of responsibility", "togetherness", "with respect", "care and precision" and "with heart"
- Autonomous, structured and stress-resistant personality, with a strong service orientation and willingness to work irregular hours and perform on-call duties
- Category B driving licence; additional categories (C/C1) and forklift licence are an advantage
