Inspector 80%The Directorate of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich (www.vd.zh.ch) oversees the Office for Labor, the Office for Economy, the Office for Mobility, as well as administratively the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV).
In the interest of employees and companies, the Office for Economy (AWI) contributes to strengthening the location Zurich. With its around 100 employees, the AWI bundles economic competencies and houses the areas of location promotion, work permits, labor inspection, labor relations and economics as well as the staff.
The Labor Inspection area is responsible for the control and enforcement of the Labor and Accident Insurance Act (occupational safety and health protection) as well as the assessment of industrial and commercial noise. Furthermore, it includes the approval and supervision of private employment agencies and temporary employment (AVG), consumer credit business (KKG), and the law on risk activities (RiskG).
For one of our teams "Occupational Safety and Health Protection" we are looking for an inspector starting July 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your tasks:
- Independent preparation, execution, and documentation of ASA controls, working time controls, construction inspections, and other operational visits directly on site with our customers
- Preparation of confirmation letters, visit reports in commercial, trade, and service companies in the Canton of Zurich
- Processing and follow-up of complaints from employees about working time violations or violations of working conditions
- Active cooperation with internal and external offices
Your profile:
- Completed technical/craft apprenticeship as well as higher professional education (federal specialist certificate or federal diploma HF)
- Many years of professional experience (ideally in the areas of occupational safety/ergonomics and health protection)
- ASGS specialist or willingness to train
- Fluent oral and written expression in German, additional foreign language skills are an advantage
- Organizational talent with precise and efficient working methods as well as enjoyment of a job with a high field service share (at least 60%)
- Confident and assertive appearance, high resilience, and assertiveness
- Proficient in the use of IT tools
