About the job
The Goldau Nature and Animal Park annually delights around 450,000 visitors amidst an impressive rocky landscape and idyllic forests. On 42 hectares, around 100 European wild animal species live. About 200 employees and many volunteers are passionately committed to nature and species conservation, education, and research – driving forward the sustainable goals of the scientifically managed animal park.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the carnivore area with bear, wolf, lynx, wildcat, fox, as well as other species such as bearded vulture, pond turtle, and roe deer
- Professional and species-appropriate care, husbandry, and breeding of the entrusted animal species
- Implementation of modern methods of animal training and behavioral enrichment
- Cleaning, maintenance, and ensuring the functionality of the animal enclosures
- Collaboration in the planning and implementation of new and redesigned animal enclosures
Your profile
- Completed training as an animal caretaker EFZ, specializing in wild animals
- Several years of experience in keeping various carnivores
- Knowledge of modern animal training and behavioral enrichment
- High motivation to contribute own ideas and actively develop animal welfare
- Versatile interest in European wild animals and their behavior
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in conveying biological knowledge to guests
- Open, friendly, and well-groomed appearance
- High reliability and pronounced sense of responsibility
- Strong sense of hygiene, order, and cleanliness
- Manual skills and technical understanding
- Enjoyment of practical and physical work outdoors
- Willingness to work regularly on weekends and public holidays
- Driver's license category B (A1 advantageous)
