Head of Real Estate Acquisition

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the city acquisition activities of the City of Zurich in coordination with the Head of the Finance Department and the LSZ Executive Board
• Development and implementation of a city-wide acquisition strategy involving the relevant departments for submission to the City Council
• Ensuring compliance requirements internally and externally
• Organisational, professional and personnel management and further development of the acquisition team, consisting of 2 employees
• Planning, controlling and implementing land and property acquisitions in line with strategy
• Conducting acquisition negotiations with sellers, internal and external partners and other stakeholders
• Preparation of well-founded bases, applications and specialist documentation for political and administrative strategic decision-makers
• Reporting to the Municipal and City Council, Finance Department and Executive Board

Profile

• University degree Uni / ETH / MAS e.g. in Economics, Law, Business, Architecture or comparable
• Substantial further education in real estate management (e.g. CUREM, federally certified real estate trustee) and/or in real estate valuation (e.g. SVIT appraiser)
• Proven several years of professional experience in real estate acquisition or consulting
• Good networking and good market knowledge of the real estate market of the City of Zurich
• Personnel and entrepreneurial leadership experience
• Professional experience in large organisations
• Assertive and strong in negotiation as well as a convincing personality with pronounced communication skills
