Security Specialist, Deputy Head of Security Department 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation for departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Security Department is the central point of contact for all security-related issues within JuWe. It develops and is responsible for a robust, future-proof security architecture for the entire office. The focus is on strengthening the security culture, a shared understanding of security, and the effective anchoring of standards and concepts in everyday work. In doing so, the department makes a central contribution to the operational capability, reliability, and resilience of JuWe.
Your area of responsibility
- You are responsible for managing and strategically developing key elements of JuWe's security architecture and maintain a broad network of internal and external contacts
- You develop foundations, standards, and measures and independently accompany them from analysis through implementation to evaluation
- You handle complex security issues in areas such as technology, occupational safety, and fire protection and develop well-founded decision-making bases
- You lead and coordinate projects, working groups, and exchange forums and take on professional leadership of employees if required
- You ensure knowledge transfer and advise managers as well as interfaces on security-relevant topics
- You assume the role of Chief of Staff in JuWe's crisis management team
What you bring with you
- Federal professional certificate with further training at CAS, DAS, MAS, or MBA level - alternatively an academic degree with corresponding further training
- Sound knowledge and several years of experience in at least two areas of security architecture, e.g. risk, security, crisis, or business continuity management
- Practical background in the security environment, such as in correctional services, police, military, civil protection, technology/construction, or corporate security
- Experience in project management as well as a structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style with a high service orientation
- Very good analytical, conceptual, and editorial skills as well as confident German language skills in spoken and written form
- Resilience, quick comprehension, and confident appearance even in demanding situations
- Advantageous: Additional training in fire protection as well as occupational safety/health protection or willingness to complete these, as well as experience in staff work
