Managing Director Schwyz Tourism AG
- 10 September 2026
- 80 – 100%
- Permanent position
- German (Native language), English (Intermediate)
About the job
Schwyz Tourism is the cantonal network organisation for tourism in the canton of Schwyz. Together with the four tourism regions Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Zürichsee, Erlebnisregion Mythen, Rigi and Stoos-Muotathal as well as Gastro Schwyz, it coordinates supra-regional topics and creates connections to the canton, economy, politics, population and tourism partners.
For the operational management and further development of Schwyz Tourism, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, communicative and integrative personality.
Your tasks
- You bear the overall operational responsibility for Schwyz Tourism and implement the strategy defined by the Board of Directors in a results-oriented manner.
- You coordinate cooperation with the four tourism regions and Gastro Schwyz, identify common challenges and seek viable solutions and synergies together with the partners.
- You maintain and expand the network with the canton, authorities, economy, associations and tourism partner organisations.
- You represent Schwyz Tourism externally and help to further strengthen the understanding of the economic and social importance of tourism in the canton.
- Together with the regions, you ensure the cantonal visibility and distribution of relevant tourist content via suitable channels and partner platforms.
- You lead the employees of the office and are responsible for annual planning, budget and reporting.
- Together with the Chairman of the Board, you prepare the Board’s business in a structured and decision-oriented manner.
- You play a key role in developing the new service agreement with the canton of Schwyz for the period from 2028 onwards and work closely with the Office for Economy (AWI).
Your profile
You are an honest, credible and engaging personality who enjoys taking responsibility, bringing people together and keeping an overview even in complex situations. You listen, recognise different needs and positions, and know how to develop common solutions from these and implement them consistently.
You have:
- a higher education, for example in business administration, communication, tourism or a related field
- entrepreneurial thinking and a good understanding of management and business contexts
- strong communication, moderation and networking skills
- leadership competence and the ability to provide orientation and win partners for common goals even without formal authority
- a very good understanding of digital developments as well as knowledge of tourism market development (marketing, distribution etc.)
- enjoyment of public appearances, political and social sensitivity as well as a confident manner towards different stakeholders
- high self-motivation and an independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
Your profile – additional
A classic career in tourism is not a prerequisite. What matters is that you understand tourism contexts, are enthusiastic about the industry and can work professionally on an equal footing with experienced tourism managers.
Personalities from related fields such as location and regional development, associations, mountain railways or other organisations with complex partner and stakeholder structures are also expressly invited to apply.
An anchoring in the canton of Schwyz or Central Switzerland as well as knowledge of the regional culture and political landscape are advantageous.
What to expect
You will take on a responsible management role with a high degree of independence and scope for design. In a small, agile team, you will work at the interface between the four tourism regions, Gastro Schwyz, the canton, the economy and overarching tourism partners and can actively help shape the future of Schwyz Tourism.
Your workplace is located in Brunnen. Home office and regular work directly from the regions are possible. We offer contemporary employment conditions and five weeks’ holiday.
