The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the acute hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the Department of Anaesthesiology under the direction of Mr Markus Bischoff, we are looking for an assistant physician as of 01.01.2027 or by arrangement for a workload of 80-100%
Your tasks
- Our goal is to accompany you step by step on the path to the specialist title in anaesthesiology
- After careful induction, you will independently take on tasks – always under the supervision of an experienced specialist
- You conduct preoperative information discussions and are a competent and empathetic contact person for patients
- With respect and responsibility, you accompany your patients through anaesthesia and the entire perioperative phase
- Step by step, you develop and deepen your practical skills in general and regional anaesthesia
- Depending on your qualification and progress, you will grow into extended tasks, e.g. in theatre management including efficient, economical and above all safe processes
Your profile
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for our field with the goal of obtaining the specialist title in anaesthesiology
- Willingness to try new things and accept challenges
- Professional, reliable and appreciative demeanour as well as an appropriate communication style
- Initial experience as an assistant physician – whether in anaesthesia or another specialty with direct patient contact – is an advantage
- You bring the ability for self-reflection, willingness to learn, team spirit and a responsible way of working
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form (native speaker or at least level C1)
- You have completed the Swiss state examination or a recognised medical degree from an EU/EFTA country
