Company Description
MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.
We are looking to expand the Analytics team by hiring an experienced Power Analyst to support the growth of our power markets analytics capabilities.

Job Description
- Maintain and improve the power market fundamental stack model across European markets.
- Monitor model inputs and outputs, track model performance, and propose improvements.
- Support the power desk with regular short to mid-term fundamental forecasting and analysis.
- Follow market developments and analyze correlations between energy complex building blocks - CO2 emissions, coal, gas, and power prices.
- Propose profitable Clear Spark Spread (CSS) and Clear Dark Spread (CDS) trading opportunities.
- Based on research and statistical analysis, prepare fundamental scenarios.
- Continuously improve understanding of fundamental power market dynamics (supply/demand).
- Closely cooperate with traders, gas analysts, meteorologist, data engineers and developers.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Power Analyst, or strong power markets experience in the energy trading / commodities sector
- Power market fundamental stack modelling experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics;
- Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills (econometric and statistical modelling)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Coding skills in Python and SQL are an advantage.
- Ability to explain and communicate complex concepts, translate market analyses into propositions/strategies and to communicate them clearly.
