Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of the Fairmont Spa, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently providing a professional, friendly, and engaging service
• Welcoming clients to the fitness area, regularly monitoring the cardio and weight training equipment
• Ensuring clients receive appropriate instructions on equipment use and providing fitness advice
• Promoting and organising client/member fitness programmes and activities, preparing the weekly group class schedule, leading several group classes each day
• Selling series of "personal training" sessions, developing sports and dietary programmes
• Offering different exercises according to clients’ requirements, abilities, and skill levels
• Assisting clients during activities, ensuring exercises are performed correctly
• Checking that exercise execution and equipment use comply with safety standards
• Maintaining fitness areas, ensuring equipment functions correctly and is used according to guidelines
• Organising occasional or regular sports activities for clients/members
• Ensuring accuracy of all attendance records and client registrations in accordance with guidelines
• Always maintaining impeccable attire, cleanliness, and hygiene
• Adhering to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
• Complying with ergonomic work standards and Health & Safety regulations
• Observing all hygiene policies
• Respecting company standards and all safety rules
• Performing any other assigned tasks

Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in a sports centre as a fitness instructor, responsible for personalised support and programme creation, as well as training and experience in conducting and leading group classes focused on cardio and muscle strengthening
• Certification in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid
• A university degree in a related discipline is preferred
• Fluency in French
• Very good knowledge of English
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Particularly responsible and reliable
• Ability to focus on clients’ needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Requirements of the Position:

The physical requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Frequent: standing or walking throughout the work period
• Frequent: lifting and carrying loads up to 30 kg
• Frequent: kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
• Occasional: climbing up or down ladders, stairs, and ramps

VISA REQUIREMENTS

To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
