About the job
Lead, develop, network and represent: Shape the future of Caritas Switzerland with clarity, foresight and humanity.
Our client prevents and alleviates poverty in Switzerland and worldwide in around 20 countries. Caritas Switzerland is an independent association with around 1,500 employees, based in Lucerne and a member of the international Caritas network. On the topics of poverty reduction, migration and social integration, Caritas Switzerland, together with the regional, independent organisations, offers a wide range of services and projects for families, single parents, the unemployed and working poor. We have been commissioned to find an authentic and integral leader for the new appointment of the
Executive Board
You will bear overall responsibility for the personnel, financial and operational management and further development of the organisation. Together with the management team, you will implement the strategy and connect mission, impact and economic efficiency. With clear decisions and open dialogue, you create orientation and trust, while promoting a culture of appreciation within the company. You work closely with the statutory bodies and prepare their committee matters before and after meetings. Another particularly important task is representing Caritas Switzerland to authorities, politics, partner organisations, donors, the public and media, as well as strengthening national and international networks.
For this versatile role, you bring a university degree at master’s level or an equivalent qualification, supplemented by solid further training in business administration and/or non-profit management depending on the field. You have led organisations of comparable size and complexity across several management levels, successfully shaped change and possess sound business management expertise. As an entrepreneurial and innovative personality, you can motivate yourself and others towards a common goal and approach demanding challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. You identify with the values and mission of Caritas Switzerland and communicate confidently in German as well as very well in French and English. You are present three days a week at the headquarters in Lucerne, regularly visit other locations in Switzerland and are available for around two foreign trips and several international meetings per year.
Would you like to actively shape the future of one of the leading Swiss NPOs? Then we look forward to receiving your application.
