THE JOB AS A BUILDING SERVICES TECHNICIAN Building services technicians have good practical-technical skills, are flexible and independent. They work in an action- and customer-oriented manner. The chosen focus is recorded in the apprenticeship contract and then also listed in the report card.
The manual requirements are roughly the same as in the professions of heating installer, ventilation system builder, sanitary installer, or tinsmith. But the school material in vocational school is simpler. Building services technicians work in new and renovation construction. On the construction site, they mostly work in teams under the guidance of an experienced colleague. Often, they also collaborate with craftsmen from other construction trades. This basic training is suitable for craftily talented young people who are interested in a profession in building technology but need a bit more time for school. With the two-year "practical vocational education," you can acquire a solid basic education and have the opportunity to learn the profession of installer in an additional 2 years.
